Role Overview
As a DevOps Consultant, you will take ownership of designing, implementing, and maturing our cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and observability platform. You will work closely with engineering teams to enable an “Ops by Devs” model and establish scalable foundations for product growth.
Your Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Architecture
Design and implement production-grade AWS infrastructure using ECS Fargate, powered by Terraform or AWS CDK.
This includes configuration of core supporting services such as SNS, SQS, networking, storage, and security components, with a strong focus on reproducibility, scalability, and version-controlled infrastructure.
Outcome: Fully automated, repeatable cloud environments that are reliable and easy to evolve.
2. CI/CD Pipeline Design & Implementation
Build and optimize a robust CI/CD pipeline aligned with the team’s branching and release strategy.
Lead the migration of a Java Spring Boot monorepo from Bitbucket to GitHub, including containerisation of applications, artifact versioning using semantic versioning (semver), environment promotions, and safe rollback mechanisms.
Outcome: Highly automated deployments with reduced manual overhead and increased release confidence.
3. Datadog Observability Stack
Design and implement an end-to-end observability solution using Datadog, covering monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, and incident response.
Create dashboards and runbooks optimized for developer operations, enabling teams to independently diagnose and resolve issues.
Outcome: Strong operational visibility and faster, more predictable incident response.
4. Data Lake & Analytics Infrastructure
Architect and deploy a modern analytics stack using ClickHouse as the data lake and Metabase for BI and reporting.
Build data ingestion pipelines from PostgreSQL, optimize query performance, and enable self-service analytics for business and engineering teams.
Outcome: A ready-to-use analytics and business intelligence platform supporting data-driven decisions.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, especially ECS Fargate and core cloud services
- Deep expertise in Terraform or AWS CDK
- Proven experience designing CI/CD pipelines and containerising applications
- Solid background in Java Spring Boot environments
- Practical experience with Datadog observability stacks
- Experience working with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Metabase, and data pipelines
- Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and cloud-native architecture
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
